AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION

Ava Resort is just a 12-minute drive from Cancun International Airport. For airport transportation, we suggest Amstar, a trusted local company who we have received great service from in the past, and they have set-up a dedicated booking link for our guests:

You can book private vehicles for up to 7 people or a shared van, which is more affordable but may take longer due to multiple stops.

Regardless of who you book with, ensure you know where to meet them, usually outside of the airport on the sidewalk at the international arrivals area. Avoid talking to anyone inside the airport offering rides or deals, as they are likely timeshare salespeople or scammers. I repeat, no matter what they tell you, DO NOT STOP. Just ignore them and keep walking.

After customs, walk past the rental car counters (again DO NOT STOP unless you've booked a car) and exit directly outside to the sidewalk. Look for your transportation company with a sign displaying their name and yours. If unsure, call the company or us to confirm before getting in.

LOCAL EXCURSIONS

For guests interested in off-resort activities, Amstar will have a table set up in the hotel lobby where you can book popular excursions such as exploring the ancient ruins of Tulum, snorkelling in the cenotes, visiting the vibrant coastal town of Playa del Carmen, swimming with sea turtles in Akumal, enjoying a thrilling zip-line adventure, or enjoying the waterslides at the Jungala Aqua Adventure. All of these experiences are within an hour’s drive from Cancun, making it easy to add a little extra adventure to your trip.
